    The Theory Of Everything

The Theory of Everything is the story of the most brilliant and celebrated physicist of our time, Stephen Hawking, and Jane Wilde the arts student he fell in love with whilst studying at Cambridge in the 1960s.

Little was expected from Stephen Hawking, a bright but shiftless student of cosmology, given just two years to live following the diagnosis of a fatal illness at 21 years of age.

He became galvanized, however, by the love of fellow Cambridge student, Jane Wilde, and he went on to be called the successor to Einstein, as well as a husband and father to their three children.

Over the course of their marriage as Stephen's body collapsed and his academic renown soared, fault lines were exposed that tested the lineaments of their relationship and dramatically altered the course of both of their lives

    Elsa & Fred (PG)

    2:30pm and 7:30pmHythe & Dibden Parish Hall, West Street, Hythe, SO45 6AA

Elsa and Fred"Elsa and Fred" is the story of two people who at the end of the road, discover that it's never too late to love and make dreams come true.

Elsa has lived for the past 60 years dreaming of a moment that Fellini had already envisaged: the scene in 'La Dolce Vita' at the Fontana di Trevi.

The same scene without Anita Ekberg in it, but with Elsa instead.

Without Marcello Mastroianni but with that love that took so long to arrive. Fred has always been a good man who did everything he was supposed to do.

After losing his wife, he feels disturbed and confused and his daughter decides that it would be best if he moves into a smaller apartment where he ends up meeting Elsa.

From that moment on, everything changes. Elsa bursts into his life like a whirlwind, determined to teach him that the time he has left to live -- be it more or less -- is precious and that he should enjoy it as he pleases. Fred surrenders to Elsa's frenzy, to her youth, to her boldness, to her beautiful madness.

    10am - 4pmHigh Street, Hythe

hythe_antique_Markets_2015On Bank Holiday Mondays the villagers are very proud of their lively Art, Design, Antiques and Vintage Street Market which also takes pride of place at their Mistletoe Fayre in November.

An eclectic mix of new and old treasures and works of art, nestling under the blue and white gazebos, just waiting to be discovered.

You might grab yourself a genuine antique work of art, some fifties haut couture or some jewellery that grandma used to wear, or a stunning original that you can buy direct from the artist.

There are plenty of places to eat and drink to suit all budgets, or enjoy traditional fish and chips on the sea front Promenade, with its raised boardwalk.

Take a ride on the little electric train along Hythe’s historic Pier, which is over 130 years old, and catch the passenger ferry, which sails back and forth every half hour between Hythe and the city of Southampton.
