For all those of you interested in researching your Family History - the 1841 Census became available at the end of April- after 5 long years of inputting data! It's an important addition for family history research - it was the first time the Census has included the details of the place of birth, and their relationship to the head of the household.
It can be found by going to http://www.ancestry.co.uk/ (there is a subscription to the site, but you can have a free 15 day trial). In the opening screen you can type in the details of the people you are interested in and then click Search. The more information you have, the more likely you are to return the record that you want - but beware if some of the detail is not precise - it might mean that no records come up! If this happens - remove some of the information, so that you can widen the search, Enjoy. |
