Introduction and Bureau History
The Waterside Citizen Advice Bureau was formed within the waterside council of community service in 1979. It operated to recruit volunteers and gain registration with Citizens Advice. The current manager was appointed in 1999.

The original association was dissolved on 31st December 2005. The bureau commenced operations as a new incorporated charity on 1st January 2006.

Appointments are not always neccessary as the bureau operates with contingency plans for emergencies. Complemented with email and/or a telephone advice service. Up to five thousand enquiries are dealt with from the areas of Hythe, Dibden Purlieu, Fawley, Exbury, Lepe, Beaulieu, Marchwood and Denny Lodge

Specialist Services
Facilities to access the community legal services franchise in debt and welfare benefits, as well as home visits for people unable to attend the office are available. Additionally, regular sessions are held at Marcella House Hythe. New Forest Community Legal Services Enquiry Line 023 8084 7039.

Location
The bureau is located in the centre of Hythe with public car parking opposite (except Tuesdays which is market day) Bus services run from Calshot, Fawley, Langly through Hythe to Southampton and between Hythe, Dibden Purlieu, Netley View, Applemore, Blackfield and Lymington.
