Drama – After a bleak childhood, Jane Eyre goes out into the world to become a governess. As she lives happily in her new position at Thornfield Hall, she meets the dark, cold, and abrupt master of the house, Mr. Rochester. Jane and her employer grow close in friendship and she soon finds herself falling in love with him. Happiness seems to have found Jane at last, but could Mr. Rochester’s terrible secret be about to destroy it forever? We all know the story but this film is getting stunning reviews for its beautiful telling. Tuesday 21st February – One Day (12A)
Drama – Based on the extraordinary and unforgettable best-selling book by David Nicholls. Emma and Dexter meet on the night of their university graduation. We see them every year on the anniversary of that date – July 15th. Emma is smart but success doesn’t come quickly for her, whereas for Dexter, success and women come very easily. Through the years they grow apart as their lives take different directions and they meet other people. But as they grow apart from those other people and their lives start taking opposite directions again, Emma and Dexter find that they belong with each other.

Tuesday 20th March – The Help (12A)
Drama - Set in Mississippi during the 1960s, Skeeter (Stone) is a southern society girl who returns from college determined to become a writer, but turns her friends’ lives – and a Mississippi town – upside down when she decides to interview the black women who have spent their lives taking care of prominent southern families. Aibileen (Davis), Skeeter’s best friend’s housekeeper, is the first to open up – to the dismay of her friends in the tight-knit black community. Despite Skeeter’s life-long friendships hanging in the balance, she and Aibileen continue their collaboration and soon more women come forward to tell their stories – and as it turns out, they have a lot to say. Along the way, unlikely friendships are forged and a new sisterhood emerges, but not before everyone in town has a thing or two to say themselves when they become unwittingly – and unwillingly – caught up in the changing times

From the triumph of the general election, through the Falklands crisis to her eventual downfall, Meryl Streep gives the performance of her life as Margaret, and with the role of her faithful husband Denis in the safe hands of Jim Broadbent, Director Phyllida Lloyd pulls a cracker with this stunning biopic that will strike a chord with anyone who remembers an administration that resonated with strikes, war and protest, but that nobody will ever forget.
