In a large field on the corner of Frost Lane and Shore Road Barry & Janice
keep goats, chickens, geese, pot-bellied pigs and two donkeys.
The locals know it as the Frost Lane Farm but Barry prefers Barry's Sanctuary. The field has woods along one side and three years ago Barry erected two owl boxes in the trees. This year (2002) one of the boxes was used by a pair of tawny owls.
Barry fitted infra-red cameras in the box and spent many happy hours viewing the happenings in the box from the comfort of his fireside.
Two owlets eventually left the box to swell the local population.

The first clip shows the mother grooming the owlet in the box - one of the owlets has already left. The noises you hear are those picked up by the camera.
The second clip shows the mother jumping up towards the box exit and then leaving the box.
