Police in Hythe are taking a proactive approach to tackle youth nuisance.
On the evening of Friday, February 16 officers conducted an operation in Hythe, Dibden Purlieu, Marchwood and Holbury.
37 containers of alcohol were seized at Dibden Purlieu and Holbury Precinct, and a number of youths were spoken to about littering and causing a disturbance.
Hythe Sector Inspector John Kenna said: “I would like this to act as a warning to a minority of young people across the Waterside area, who continue to conduct themselves in this way.
“Anti social behaviour is not acceptable and will not be tolerated.
The parents or guardians of children who were spoken to by officers have been informed.
“Residents within our communities have a right to live in a safe environment and not be subjected to this type of anti social activity.
“I know that the vast majority of local young people are decent and law abiding, however, there is a minority who are sending out a negative message to the wider community and do not accurately reflect the positive contribution that others make.”
