Police are appealing for witnesses after an armed robbery at the Tesco Express store in Beaulieu Road, Dibden Purlieu.
A masked man brandishing a silver handgun entered the store with a pillow case or something similar at around 10.15 pm on Thursday, June 14. He demanded money and cigarettes.
A member of staff handed over a small amount of cash and a quantity of cigarettes which were placed into a carrier bag from the store. He then left the store and made off along Beaulieu Road in the direction of the Hythe By-Pass roundabout.
He is described as:
- White
- Aged 17-24 years old
- 6ft tall
- He had what appeared to be a small tattoo on his left hand between the thumb and index finger
- He was wearing a beige or grey coloured top and blue trousers. His face was covered with a white mask or bandana with eye holes.
The robber is believed to be in possession of a large quantity of silver Lambert & Butler and Benson & Hedges cigarrettes in both 10 and 20 quantity packets which he may be trying to sell on.
