Police searching for missing teenager, 15-year-old Rosemary Edwards, have received information that may be of value in their continuing efforts to find Rosemary.

Two members of the public have independently contacted the enquiry team, stating that they saw a girl matching Rosemary’s description, walking on the road in the Butts Ash area towards Hythe in the early hours of Wednesday morning, September 5.

Officers are making enquiries to obtain CCTV footage from the general area around Hythe, in the hope of finding vital clues to help find the teenager who went missing from her family home in Wellington Close last Tuesday, September 4,

As a result of enquiries already made, officers now believe she may not have been wearing a striped top as first thought by her parents.  However, Rosemary is quite distinctive due to the length of her dark blonde hair, which falls to within a few inches above her waist and it is suspected that she would have been on foot and alone.

Officers are also continuing to investigate who Rosemary may have been in contact with over the past weeks and months by mobile phone and by computer.

Supt Barry Talbot, Deputy Commander for the Western Command Unit said: “The enquiry team has been working tirelessly over the weekend to find the breakthrough that might help us trace this vulnerable young girl.

We are encouraged from the support shown by members of the public who have already contacted us, but, we would still like to hear from anyone who may have seen Rosemary since she was last seen at her family home in Wellington Close at 10.30pm on Tuesday; particularly in the early hours of Wednesday September 5.“

Anyone with information should contact the Operation Emshot team by phoning 0845 045 45 45.
